NWN Carousel, a leading provider of cloud communications services using a portfolio of solutions to drive hybrid work, is putting its community focus on helping children and teenagers with behavioral health challenges.
NWN Carousel is sponsoring a multiweek Virtual Sea-Lab at the Whydah Pirate Museum on Cape Cod for children and teenagers at Franciscan Children’s inpatient behavioral health units. The Sea-Lab gives young patients the ability to participate in the museum’s ongoing archeological discoveries remotely while receiving the important care they need.
The Sea-Lab and Learning Center is where renowned explorer Barry Clifford and his team of archeologists are currently excavating treasure from the pirate ship The Whydah, which wrecked during a violent nor’easter off Wellfleet, Massachusetts over 300 years ago.
In the Virtual Sea-Lab, the kids are learning about Whydah Pirate captain Samuel “Black Sam” Bellamy and are getting to see new discoveries such as gold and silver treasure recovered by Clifford and his crew off Cape Cod.
NWN Carousel is donating the tablets and connectivity for both Franciscan Children’s and the Whydah Museum so the children can learn about the golden age of piracy and witness live, and in real-time, major archeological discoveries that have been buried in the sand for centuries. The Virtual Sea-Lab also provides young patients with the opportunity to learn about geography and world history.
